Right in keeping with Leo's flair for the dramatic, this is also the biggest Full Moon of the year. Astronomers call this a "perigee Moon." According to a blurb on SpaceWeather.com, it will be 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than any other Full Moon this year.

It may have a halo in many places, too, due to ice crystals in the atmosphere. Unfortunately, we probably won't see it here in the Seattle area, as it's overcast. Again. No news there.

Hi deb!

I'm just calling it as I see it. :-) Lots of times when I'm writing a post on the lunations, things sort of pop out of the chart. [very professional phrasing there . . . :-)]

Nature is quite direct, isn't she?!
