Real Astrologers Weekly Poll: What are you doing this New Moon?

Happy New Moon in Cancer! The Cancer New Moon is about mother, family, nurturing, home, and nesting. In this week’s poll, we’d like to know how you plan on using this special energy. (For more information on the New Moon, see Neith’s post.)

Opinion Polls & Market Research

Results of the Previous Poll

Results of last week’s poll

30.0% Synastry and compatibility
0.0% Celebrity charts
40.0% Understanding the natal chart
73.3% Transits and life cycles
30.0% Current events from an astrological perspective
6.7% Questions & Answers posts

Judging from the results, most of you who voted want more information on transits and life cycles, with learning how to understand your natal chart in second place. I was surprised to see that synastry and compatibility came in fourth, because most the searches that readers use to find us are in that area.

Writing about celebrities is a mixed bag. On one hand, their lives are so visible that it is easy to use their charts for learning how astrology works. On the other hand, sometimes only their fans are interested in reading about them. The post I wrote on David Cook garnered quite a bit of interest and Ellen DeGeneres very little. Then, that could be a reflection of our readership as well.

Of course, we will always throw in the occasional post on current events that catch our fancy or if someone requests it. And we’ll continue our Q&A posts as a regular feature, because we both feel it is a great format to help others and demonstrate the value of good astrology.

Of course, today is the day to write your New Moon abundance checks! Here’s how.

I wish I were able to loll about and rest! But there are strawberries & peas to pick and grass to mow, etc, etc. Summer is “ant” time around here . . . :::grin:::

Ceres is reminding me this is the growing season, not fun in the sun time.

Well, I’m sitting here with a glass of live juice (carrot, celery, cucumber, bell peppers, a slice of jalapeno) and my special “power breakfeast” of a poached egg and spinach on a thin slice of whole rye. Nothing but salads and organic strawberries for the next few days.

Oh … and I’ve been having a spontaneous urge to clean the house. Ha, ha!

Oh so that’s what an abundance check is! I thought it was some kind of list, but it really is a check. Tell me, should we write specific things on the check for each month or do you write them all the same?

Hey DM, I always fill out my abundance checks the same as the directions say. :-D I’ll take all the “abundance” the Universe is willing to send my way!

Is it too late to write an abundance check?

Nope! The Moon is still in Cancer until late tonight, so go for it! :-D

I love how *no one* has voted “call my mother”! Well, this Cancer rising just IM-ed her mother, does that count? Maybe the Cancer New Moon is too….heavy…. a time to deal with your mom when you’re an adult. I still have a little child though so I gave him tons of extra TLC and a healthy home-cooked meal last night, which he needed!

Well, Leslee, I’d say that moving definitely is related to home! I’ve moved more times in my life than I care to say, and it often happened either right after a New Moon in my fourth house or while Mars was in the fourth or ninth (long-distance moves). As you no doubt know, the fourth house is associated with Cancer.

Resist the urge to keep pushing yourself until everything is done. If you can squeeze in a few minutes of downtime, be sure to do so. A little will go a long way toward refreshing your energy.

Jessica, I think IMing your Mom counts! Funny. And yes, you are right about dealing with mother issues as an adult being an activity related to Cancer and the fourth-house. Saturn and Pluto in the fourth are well-known for dredging up childhood trauma.

Thanks, Pat. And I think I’ve noted before that my progressed Sun was exactly on my IC the day I moved. :-) (Btw, my progressed Venus will hit my IC exact in 2 years; right now it’s hanging out conj progressed Neptune <3 degrees from the IC.)
