Weekly Forecast November 2: Full Moon in Taurus, Neptune Direct

Scorpio DaysWe’re heading into dreamtime now. With the Sun in Scorpio and Neptune at a standstill, preparing to go direct, we’re all more open to psychic phenomena and “downloads” from the universe.

I forgot to mention in last week’s forecast that Sunday was the Celtic cross-quarter day of Samhain. In earlier times, Samhain was the beginning of the new year. In the industrialized West, we tend to view night and the dark part of the year as negative and undesirable, but to the nature-centered Celts, light grows out of darkness, so their days began at sunset, not sunrise, and their year began with the descent into winter. The seeds have all been planted for what will be born again in spring.

This also is a time of year when many people feel the veil thinning between the worlds of the visible and the unmanifest. So the tradition goes, the veil lifts very briefly on Samhain, which evolved into our modern Halloween. Still, as with many of our traditional holidays, we’ve retained the rich symbolism, even if we’ve lost touch with its meaning.

Because of this week’s Full Moon and Neptune’s change of direction, the window will remain open a little longer this year for us to travel into unseen realms. Your dreams may be very vivid this week, and they may contain important messages. Keep a journal by your bed, and don’t let those images get away!

We begin the week with the Full Moon in Taurus. Most of you probably have read Neith’s post from Saturday, but if not, don’t miss it. She has a lot of interesting insights, especially for us change-averse fixed-sign types (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius).

Even if you don’t have a lot of fixed energy in your chart, it’s human nature to fight change, and the changes are going to come fast and furious as we head into next year’s cardinal cross. Now is the time for us to take inventory, keep what serves us, and get rid of everything else. We’re going to need to travel light in the times ahead, both materially and spiritually. In my experience, it’s always best to make the necessary sacrifices, rather than waiting for someone or something to take away the things you’re attached to.

Neptune turns direct on Wednesday. We may feel sleepy and slow for much of this week, and concentration will be more difficult than usual. If you don’t have a mentally demanding job, or if you have a lull and can turn off your thought processes for a few days, you can get some amazing insights. Because Neptune is in Aquarius, the sign of the collective, the messages that come to us now may be about how we fit into the unfolding story of our time. We may get glimpses of the future, too. If a booming voice tells you to build an ark and gather the animals two by two, let me know!

The Sun and Mercury conjoin on Thursday, and it’s another day for profound insights and deeper understanding of how the universe works. New ideas may come into our minds as images or even feelings rather than thoughts, and they may need time to process before you understand them. It could take days or even months.

Venus enters Scorpio on Saturday, intensifying Scorpio themes of money, sex, and power. To the undeveloped mind, this translates to greed, lust, and the need to control. But the evolved mind knows that desire is a means to an end and that there is real power in being able to desire with an intensity that could kill us, and then releasing attachment to those desires. That kind of power is a bit scary to think of, and maybe that’s why we have a simultaneous fear and fascination with Pluto and Scorpio.

On Sunday, Mercury sextiles Pluto. The downloads just keep on coming, and we stumble on information that opens our eyes and may even be scandalous. If you need to talk to someone about your deepest feelings, this is a good time for it.

With all this intensity, it’s not going to be an easy week. But with some effort on your part, it will be an amazingly productive week. Be sure to leave comments and let us know what’s going on with you!

Wishing you all much love and courage,
Aquarius, the sign of astrologyPat

First date with my new man tomorrow (3rd) so that could be a turning point and a BIG change ahead….

I must be unusual for a fixed sign Aquarian as I often thrive on change. Always left my past behind and I don’t hold on to things. That’s not to say that giving up things hasn’t been painful at times. These last 2 years in particular, I’ve had to let go of things I’ve wanted to have rather than needed to have. Good lesson to learn in these economic times.

Ugh, this Full Moon has been intense for me. I was stood up by the man I’ve been talking to for the last 8 months, for the 2nd time. Being the Sagde that I am, I usually call a spade a spade, call it a day and walk out the door. But for some inexplicable reason I’m reaching out so much more, and trying to work it out. This man is a Pisces Sun, Taurus Moon & Scorpio Asc. I don’t understand why he can be so passionate & loving and then stand me up! This full moon is hitting my North Node in Taurus in the 4th & Mars & Pluto in the 10th. Power, Sex, Obsession & Family seems to be the running themes.

    I’m at a loss.

Thanks, Deb. Those droplets are indeed lovely at first, but they get old real fast. Especially after Daylight Saving Time ends.

Rossa, you are right about Aquarius needing change. We get bored easily and want to move on to the next great thing. But no matter how much we want change, we’re slow to adjust to it. I’ve learned not to push myself anymore and simply to accept that radical changes tend to throw me for a loop initially, and I’ll have to bump into the internal furniture for awhile until I get used to the new layout.

    In any case, good luck!

Janelle, I had some parallel issues at this Full Moon, and it was uncomfortable, but we managed to talk it out. My intuition says that everything gradually will fall into place, and probably by the New Moon in Scorpio on Nov. 16. In the meantime, we just have to get over that hump.

I’m ready to walk off my job. Without a job lined up. And this has been on my mind for the past year and a half. But some of the events of these past few weeks are really pushing me over the edge.

I have an interview for a part-timer I don’t want. It’s not that I’m being an ingrate. It’s just… Well, I applied for the job about three months ago, and this is the third call I’ve received since then to check in if I’m still interested…

The first time, I was told that I’d be called back. I was– over a month later. At that time, the second call, I was recovering from surgery and in pain and wasn’t sure when I’d be up and running again. And by the third call, which happened yesterday (another month later), I’d already accepted another opportunity and the job I was originally interested in was taken.

They seemed a little desperate on the phone to hire part-timers for a different position. Thing is, I’m not really into it and don’t need it. I was invited to come in, today, and… I’ll go. But it’s really not my bag. But I wanted to give it a chance, see if I like it and am willing to make the sacrifice for it.

Do people realize how tough this is for a Libra? Darn it.

Eme Kah, I did that 2 years ago and I’m fine now :). It can be done, especially if you’re prepared (financially) to make that choice. Have an emergency fund ready just in case!

    Hey deb!

OH yeah! Though there have been times when it’s easier to make the choice then others.

It just penetrated my foggy brain Mars in Leo will be within ten degrees of squaring my Mars-Mercury conjunction in Scorp on and off for MONTHS! AARRRGGGH! Bite my tongue!!

Neith, I’ll call and raise you five. Mars is in my seventh house until mid-July! And of course will be retrograde there, with three direct oppositions to my Sun. I’ve already had a taste of it, and it was nauseating. Rob Hand says this transit can be used to clear the air in troubled relationships, but the SOB (Mars, not Hand) makes you work.

Eme, Deb: I, too, have done the walk-off-the-job thing. What you’d expect from impulsive Aquarius. I don’t really recommend it, though. Calmly quitting when you have either another job lined up or, as Deb suggests, a cushion, is the better option. Even when we really need a shake-up, actions taken in anger or frustration generally don’t serve us well. Contemplate awhile longer and look for a better escape route.

As for the interview for a job you really don’t want … BTDT, too, and I’ve tried to look at it in a positive light. First, any interviews you do help you do better in the next one. Practice makes perfect. So you get to practice in a job you don’t want, and that means you’ll do better in the interview for the job you really do want.

Second, it sends out your intent to the universe that you are actively seeking a job change. Even if it’s not the one you want, the fact that you are getting out there is a powerful manifestation technique. Beats the H out of visualization.

Best of luck to you both!

Sorry, forgot the opposition to my Sun too! We’ll have to compare notes on the other side of this one.

Think I’ll go check my parachute and safety helmet right now in case I have to jump for it.

Rossa, when you mentioned your date, first thing I thought of was, MARS IN LEO! If nothing else, you’ll be challenged to keep everything above-board. Hopefully, he’ll be the type of guy who can handle it. Best of luck to you!

Well, I didn’t walk off. I was angry, though, and took a stand. I have not positioned myself very well financially and wouldn’t be prepared to take such drastic action.

Pat: Yes, I’m very impulsive and in the past few years I’ve been working on being more cautious. It’s hard, though, because I rather be impulsive. I find it extremely enjoyable.

Mars in my 2nd house. I like it there, close to my sun. I need to unleash my Leo. For most of my life, I’ve repressed it and now I realize that the lion roars for a reason.
