Sexual Tension and a Bit of Drama

hawk flies free . . .

Even though the Sun and Mercury are now in placid Taurus, unstable reactive energies continue to dominate this week, promising sexual tension, melodrama, and overindulging in what isn’t good for us. Or is it?

As I write, the Moon is gliding through the last degrees of Scorpio, and we’re still trying to determine what manifested out of Sunday’s Full Moon. It has been uncomfortable for me, and I sense that many of you share that watching-and-waiting feeling. I think we’ll have an answer by the end of today.

Mars in Cancer trines Uranus in Pisces today as well, and the Scorpio Moon completed a grand trine in the water signs yesterday. Among other things, you might have noticed a spontaneous outflow of feelings, in yourself or in others. Miracles can happen when you take a chance and tell another person what’s in your heart.

Enjoy it while you can, because the cardinal T-square between Venus, Mars, and Jupiter midweek could make you squirm. It’s interesting to note that all three of these planets are in the signs of their detriment or fall. In other words, they aren’t expressing their best qualities. Venus, the planet of love, desire, and harmonious relationships, is in demanding, me-first Aries. Mars, normally the initiator and macho guy, is in nurturing, tender Cancer, where he can get resentful and passive-aggressive. Normally ebullient Jupiter is in Capricorn, which puts a chill on his warmth and generosity.

All types of relationships may suffer under these astrological conditions, but especially ones in which sexual intimacy is an issue. If you try to get what you want through manipulation, it likely will backfire. And with Jupiter involved in this three-way, it’s likely to backfire in a big way. However, I think it’s more likely that this energy will manifest as overindulgence of some kind, be it sex, alcohol, or, most likely, comfort food. Running for chocolate or diving into a bag of chips may be your fix of choice for emotional discomfort, and you won’t stop at just one.

The best way to handle these situations is to state your needs and desires very clearly and let the other person respond as he or she wishes. Of course, we’d like the same honesty and directness that we’re putting out, but it doesn’t always happen, for one reason or another. The best you can do is to take responsibility for yourself. That said, the nature of this week’s convoluted energies may make it hard to do so in a way that makes everyone feel OK.

The Moon enters Capricorn, the sign of her detriment, on Friday, and she hooks up with Jupiter on Saturday night. Moon-Jupiter conjunctions are usually upbeat occasions, but I think there will be a lot of commiseration going on, probably over events earlier in the week. It may be hard to tap into how you really feel, but try. It’s the only way to make a heart connection.

On Sunday, the Moon opposes Mars and squares Venus. If the tension you felt early in the week didn’t find a release, it could happen at this time. Once again, keep in mind that others may not want what you want, and that’s OK for now. Conflict is not always a bad thing and is necessary for growth. If nothing else, events this week may help you understand your own wants and needs better, which is a needed precursor to getting them met.

Let me just add the usual caveat that I’m describing broad planetary energies. How they apply to you depends on where they fall in your chart. If you’d like to know that, Neith and I both do transit reports.

I’d just like to add a note to thank you all for dropping by. Neith just installed Site Meter, and it’s been great fun to see where you are located. We have readers from all over Europe, as well as Canada, Australia, Brazil, India, Singapore, and, of course, all across the United States.

Love and blessings,
Aquarius, dreads emotional conflict :-)Pat

This is good info, Pat. Those with planets & angles mid-degrees of the Cardinal signs are going to feel the T-square the most but it may be just what’s needed to break down an existing situation. Let’s keep in mind we are in beginning a lunation cycle featuring Scorpio, the sign of regeneration and renewal.

[yes, there may be pain involved . . . but what else is new?! ::grin::]

Thanks for that addition, Neith (you see, this is why two heads are better than one!).

It occurred to me, reading your reminder about this lunation cycle, that we have a unique opportunity to break down, rebirth, and transform. It’s a three-part process, and we’ve got a rare three-part lunar cycle to help us along. Pluto’s retrograde phase can’t hurt, either, as we try to get rid of what isn’t working for us.

Much love and courage to all.

Always interesting- love how the site is shaping up!

For myself, i am taking some risk after months of waffling on the cusp of buying a printer. This is a dye sublimation printer to make prints of artwork. For a long while i questioned if i could afford this expenditure given the economic times. Finally, it came down to do i trust my talent enough to go forward with my dream of offering my work to a greater audience. Yes.

I suspect this sounds familiar to a fair number of us, part of the creative process at odds with a tenuous marketplace. “Break down rebirth and transform” just as you say, very creative process but not without the necessary hard steps.

HOO BOY, did I ever. That was ugly; gulliotine city. And no pony. But then, it was right across my ASC/DSC axis. ICK.

And no pony, either. God knows what the next full moon will be like. Likely ugly as well, I imagine. FEH.

I feel kind of exhilarated by this cycle but it’s still excruciating (I do have mid-Libra). There is definitely sexual tension and melodrama all over the place in my life… all I can say is that it hasn’t really all played out yet. Looking forward to this weekend.

LOL! Max, a pony is a high maintenance little beast . . . if you want an equine, ask for a mule! :-) They are a whole heck of a lot smarter, a more comfortable ride and much lower maintenance . . . [ducking for cover here :::evil grin:::]

When the Moon moves into Capricorn, conjuncting Pluto & Jupiter (squaring Libra too)?! Let us know how that works out . . . ::grin::

    hi both

Congratulations on the new site. I’m enjoying it.

The Mars Venus Jupiter t square has been tough. Mars is currently transiting my 10th house and there was a huge blow-up at work with someone being unexpectedly let go. I wasn’t involved directly but it made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere all week.

However I’m waiting for a painter to come and give me a quote for repainting the kitchen. I reckon that redecorating the home is a good way of using the Moon in Capricorn (my 4th house)link to the other planets …. hope so anyway.

    MM, welcome!

I’m wondering whether that Scorpio Full Moon didn’t trigger the ending in question, especially since you say you weren’t personally affected. Whoever got let go may have had it in a critical location in their chart.

The Full Moon was tightly square my Ascendant/Descendant, and I experienced an ending, too, although I have to say that what’s ending wasn’t going so well, anyway. There definitely was no pony (Max, sorry you got rolled).

Neith and I will have more on the New Moon in Taurus and all the exciting planetary shifts taking place in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned. I do believe that we’ll start seeing some improvement, especially after Saturn returns direct on May 2 (he’s currently stationed and a BIG DRAG!).

    Hang in there, everyone!

Pat, you are really on the button. Surprise, surprise, the one let go is a Sun Scorpio, with an end of October birthday (can’t remember the exact date).

I’m looking forward to the Saturn direct too, esp as it’s currently almost square my natal Sun. Work, work, work :-)

Looking forward to the new posts in due course.

Well it wasn’t an easy weekend. Not disastrous, but very, very tense. And Saturn is stationing EXACTLY square my Gemini Moon. I can’t wait to hear any and all positive things about this new Moon in Taurus. Anything.

I didn’t figure there would be on, but dammit, if Bush & McCrazy can ask for ponies, I can want a pony too! };)

I used to have a Shetland; he was like 30-something when I got him and I had him for 6-7 years. Mean. But reliable.

Anyways, I already had a mule (as in stubborn, kind of like your Pluto kid there), and she’s marrying somebody else.

Oh Jessica! That sounds like one of those times to be endured . . . Saturn/Moon transits often translate as just not fun. Work?! yes! And you can end up feeling like the women in your life are not there for you too.

Max, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry! But it does sound like you are better off without the mule all right!

There is a difference between stubborn and tenacious . . . like I’m tenacious and everyone else is stubborn. heh, heh, heh
