At age 17 and with the help of her first Astrology book, Helene taught herself how to calculate a natal chart. And that was it, she was hooked! Twelve years and many books later, she went professional. In the interim, she had moved from Germany to the Netherlands, where she went through her first six months course with Mellie Uyldert. This was followed by the four-year professional training course at Karen Hamaker-Zondag’s Achernar School for Astrology and Related Sciences in Amstelveen. This school focuses on psychological astrology, so it seemed natural to follow a two-year introduction to Jungian Psychology at the same school as well.

Over the years Helene attended numerous courses, conferences, seminars and workshops with the greatest astrologers of our time, among them Robert Hand, Liz Greene and Bernadette Brady, to name just a few.

Along the way, Helene picked up the Continuum Astro*Carto*Graphy Certificate Level I & II. The course was taught by Arielle Guttman and Robert Hand in Santa Fe, NM.

Since 2001, Helene has lived in the UK. In London, she worked at the Astrological Lodge of London as a member of the steering committee, teacher and lecturer. During her time at ‘the Lodge’ as members lovingly call it, she added Traditional, Horary and Hellenistic Astrology to her astrological repertoire and privately studied on with her partner, the astrologer Les Bailey. In the meantime, she was also writing, translating and editing astrological texts, and giving personal readings, face to face and over the phone.

In 2008 Helene left London and moved to Glastonbury in the South West of England, where she gives readings at home and at the Bridget Healing Centre, and also works for the Library of Avalon, a treasure trove of esoteric literature.

Since she went professional in 1986, Helene has analysed thousands of horoscopes for people from all walks of life, regarding a great variety of subjects. In her work with individuals and couples she subscribes to the motto of Maria Montessori: “Help me to do it myself.”
