However, those who value hard work, commitment, and integrity will find that events this week have their own rewards, and confronting difficult situations head on could be quite productive. Moreover, there are subtle energies at work this week that could manifest as sudden flashes of inspiration, intuition, and insight. Continue reading

Weekly Forecast November 3: Full Moon in Taurus, Mercury Enters Scorpio
The novel never got done (a story in itself, for another time), but the experience changed my life. One of the most important lessons I learned was that it’s actually possible to feel richer than the queen of England and not spend a cent. My record, as I recall, was an entire week. Not one centime.
When I made the leap, I was living in California. I intended to stay in France for three months – long enough to get a good feel for the location of my story – but I ended up going back and forth for several years. Continue reading
Weekly Forecast October 27: Sun Trine Neptune, Mercury Sextile Jupiter
We’ve been through a lot over the past few months – well, all year, and three years before that. It hasn’t been one long crisis for most of us, but rather a series of challenges that have pushed and shoved us forward, carried us along on a rushing river. In the short periods of calm in between, we’ve barely had a chance to catch our breath, let alone time to reflect on what it’s all about. This week, we get that chance.
A lot has been written about the Uranus-Pluto square, which since 2012 has been exact five times. Continue reading
Weekly Forecast October 20: Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, Mercury Direct
There have been many times in my life when I needed a big change but was afraid to take that leap until a replacement came along. But for me, at least, it never seemed to work out that way. I had to have the courage to jump without a safety net.
I’m sure it has been the same for many of you.
I have to confess that I very rarely jumped off the moving train on my own. More often, something (or someone) kicked me from behind. The fall can be that much worse when you’re taken by surprise and don’t have time to figure out the best way to land. Then again, even with forethought, you don’t know what’s ahead. Depending on how fast the train is moving, Continue reading
Weekly Forecast September 22: Pluto Direct, New Moon in Libra
In world affairs, there’s a renewed emphasis on negotiations for peace, although the most important developments will take place out of the public eye and may bear little resemblance to what’s being reported in the media. Military operations will be covert or, at the very least, called something other than what they are. More about that in a minute.
On Monday, Pluto comes out of retrograde less than two hours before the Sun enters Libra – in astrological terms, the Libra ingress. Then on Wednesday (late Tuesday in western time zones), we have the New Moon at 1 degree Libra. Continue reading
Weekly Forecast September 1: Mercury Enters Libra, Venus Enters Virgo
My canned response to the first question is that the planets are in a difficult alignment that hasn’t happened since the beginning of the Great Depression. That’s a bit of an oversimplification, but I’ve learned that if I explain in detail as I do on my blog, most people’s eyes glaze over in less than 20 seconds.
There’s no quick answer to the second question. First we have to define “it.” Then we have to figure out which astrological signature is behind “it.” This is tricky, and astrologers all seem Continue reading
Weekly Forecast August 25: New Moon in Virgo, Mars Conjunct Saturn
It couldn’t come at a better time. The brazenness of the propaganda coming out of Washington and its European allies these days is truly astounding, although not any more shocking than the depths to which mainstream journalism has sunk. Finding an objective source of news is nearly impossible, and thoughtful readers are hungry for Continue reading
Weekly Forecast August 18: Venus Conjunct Jupiter, Sun Enters Virgo
As I mentioned in last week’s forecast, Mars is moving toward a conjunction with Saturn on August 25. That’s not until next week, but Mars transits tend to be felt a week on either side, so we’re in the zone. Moreover, the planet of war makes a jarring inconjunct with Uranus on Saturday, adding fuel to the conflicts that have intensified since the middle of June, when the inconjunct (technically called a quincunx) between Saturn and Uranus was within three degrees Continue reading
Weekly Forecast August 11: Mars Sextiles Pluto, Mercury Enters Virgo
This is a fitting image for the week ahead. As the week begins, we’re still in the wake of an astrologically challenged but beautiful super moon. Despite the continuing trouble spots, the charts are actually encouraging (a good Leo word). Many of you have been struggling lately or, at the very least in a pattern of constant irritation, like fleas biting at your Continue reading
Weekly Forecast August 4: Mars Trine Neptune, Full Moon in Aquarius
For me, that means sitting down and coming up with a new daily schedule. After moving and getting a kitten, my day seems to run me rather than the other way around, which has resulted in being run ragged. Change is like that. Even when we get the changes we want, Continue reading
