I’m having the week from hell – well, relatively speaking. It’s all First-World stuff. My home isn’t being invaded by neo-Nazis, burned by militant Islamists, or bombed by U.S. airstrikes.

No, I just had a three-day migraine, followed by two days of a “regular” headache. Right before it started, my darling kitty knocked my phone off the desk with enough force to blow off the cover and eject the battery. For several hours, it appeared dead (the phone, not the cat).

On the afternoon of headache day three, I received a warning from my hosting service that RealAstrologers had gone over its resource usage limit – the second warning in just over a month. If I don’t do something about it, the site will be shut down. Continue reading →

It seems like everywhere I go these days, I get asked, “What’s going on up there?” and “When will it be over?”

My canned response to the first question is that the planets are in a difficult alignment that hasn’t happened since the beginning of the Great Depression. That’s a bit of an oversimplification, but I’ve learned that if I explain in detail as I do on my blog, most people’s eyes glaze over in less than 20 seconds.

Weekly Forecast August 18: Venus Conjunct Jupiter, Sun Enters Virgo

This week is likely to be tense, with issues coming to a head later in the week in both our personal lives and in world affairs.

As I mentioned in last week’s forecast, Mars is moving toward a conjunction with Saturn on August 25. That’s not until next week, but Mars transits tend to be felt a week on either side, so we’re in the zone. Weekly Forecast August 11: Mars Sextiles Pluto, Mercury Enters Virgo

As I write, the sun is setting, and a huge patio party is just winding down next door. It was a scene right out of a movie, with lively music and food fit or a king. My neighbor, as it turns out, is a Leo. That guy really knows how to throw a party.

Last week, a neighbor asked how many hours a day I spend at the computer. “A lot,” was my answer.

I explained to him that analyzing charts and writing reports for clients is a big part of my job, but that writing the weekly forecast has been incredibly time-consuming lately due to the magnitude of world events. Weekly Forecast July 21: New Moon in Leo, Mars Enters Scorpio

Last week’s planetary shifting left many of us feeling “off-kilter,” as one friend put it. I’d like to say that we’ll get back “on-kilter” this week, but despite some favorable astrological events on the way, we’re in limbo for a bit longer.

In the tradition of delivering the bad news first, the station of Saturn and Uranus, and at a difficult angle with one another, continues to be a major influence for a few more weeks. Saturn returns direct today (Sunday, July 20), and Uranus turns retrograde on Monday.

Weekly Forecast June 30: Mercury Direct, Sun Opposite Pluto

No one will be happier than I when Mercury turns direct this week. Tuesday. At precisely 5:49:55 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time.

I have no idea why this Mercury retrograde period hit me so hard, and not even in the way it “should” have, according to where it is transiting my birth chart. Then, with Mercury in his own sign of Gemini, all things related to communications, including blogs, are subject to disruption. Posting this forecast has been a nightmare.

I just read Ray Merriman’s weekly column and saw that he is scratching his head over this one, too. I feel a little better knowing that one of the world’s most experienced and respected astrologers couldn’t make any more sense of it than I could. Weekly Forecast June 23: Mars Opposite Uranus, New Moon in Cancer

It has been a crazy week. Mercury’s return to Gemini seems to have brought resolution to several issues I was having, but now I’ve fallen way behind in my work, another common occurrence when the Messenger is in reverse mode.

It took the better part of the week to troubleshoot my Internet connection, which has been working properly for three days but is showing signs of instability. This is totally not funny. The rug situation, however, continued to get more and more ridiculous. If I wrote a sitcom based on this transaction, the producers would criticize it as too contrived. There is no way I could make this stuff up.

I’m hoping the trend of resolving issues will continue so that I can get caught up. Continue reading →
